Charles Robert Adams

Charles Robert Adams, husband of Lila Branks Adams, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 22nd, 2016. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robert Adams are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. "Bob" was born August 13th, 1932 in Salisbury, North Carolina, son of the late George and Ruth Adams. In addition to being a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (1959), he also served in The United States Air Force (1951-1955). He worked for NASA and defense contractors Bendix, Tracor, and Lockheed Martin. Bob was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Charleston, South Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Lila, of 60 years; daughter, Carolyn Sue A. Hagood (Johnson) of Charleston, SC; son, Charles Robert Adams, Jr. (Susann) of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren: Marghretta Hagood Shisko (Seabrook), Holloway Hagood, Francesca Hagood, Sullivan Hagood, Strachan Hagood, Pinckney Adams, Julie Ann Adams, and Caroline Adams; sisters, JoAnn Adams Koch of Suwanee, Georgia, Sandra Adams Reese (Sam) of Columbia ; his brother, Stan C. Adams (Mary Lou) of North Myrtle Beach and one sister in law, Gretta B. Masche (Louis) of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Bob was also expecting his first great-grandchild, a boy due in February, 2017.
