Cecil Kirk Cargile, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on his 80th birthday, February 19, 2025, in Charleston, South Carolina. Born on February 19, 1945, Cecil lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and an unwavering love for his family and his community.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2025 from St. James Anglican Church, 1101 Camp Road, James Island. Interment will take place 11:00 AM Monday, February 24, 2025 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road. The family will receive friends between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2025 at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston.
Cecil was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force from August 11, 1966, until his discharge on July 27, 1970. After his service, he became self-employed, where he earned a reputation for his attention to detail and dedication to his clients.
A true family man, Cecil is survived by his beloved wife Janice Cargile and his two sons, James and Brad Cargile. He cherished every moment spent with his family, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever. Cecil was not only a devoted husband and father but also a passionate supporter of Alabama football, proudly wearing his team colors and cheering them on every game day. He loved fried chicken, collard greens, potato salad, and fresh corn on the cob.
Cecil was an active and valued member of his church community, engaging with his church's men's group, where he fostered friendships and shared his faith. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In this time of loss, let us celebrate Cecil's remarkable journey, and the legacy of love, humor, and kindness he leaves behind.

Cecil Kirk is survived by: his wife Janice (Murray); sons Brad (Shay) and James (Brad); grandchildren Amanda (Steven), Justin (Sierra), Jordan (Kimberly), and Ashley; great grandchildren: Leah, Evelyn Mae, and Kash.
Cecil Kirk was preceded in death by: Walter Ryan Cargile; Cecil Bostick Cargile; Sarah Belle Cargile; Mary Bevis (Cargile); Nancy Newman (Cargile); Angela Kennedy (Cargile); and Donald Cargile.
