Catherine Q. Pinckney - Charleston- Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, Catherine Elizabeth Quinby Pinckney, the widow of Gaillard Pinckney. The relatives and friends of Catherine Q. Pinckney are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Saturday, November 27, 2010, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday betweem 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home. Catherine was born in Charleston on July 31, 1921, a daughter of Bertrand Adler and Lillie Estelle Burn Quinby. She graduated from Julian Mitchel Elementary and Memminger High School. During World War II, she was awarded a Certificate of Honorable Service as a member of the Army Air Force's Aircraft Warning Service for loyal and faithful service. Catherine was a secretary for Larson Homes, Inc. for many years and a member of The Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion. She is survived by her sisters: Edna Quinby Morgan and Vivvian Quinby Huthmacher and her husband, Le Roy. her step-children: Nancy G. Pinckney, Verdier P. Fritz and her husband, Laurence, Gerald F.
