Catherine Doris Lloyd

Catherine Doris Lynch Lloyd, 84, of Charleston SC, widow of James Hogan Lloyd, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 26, 2015. The relatives and friends of Doris Lloyd are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Church of the Nativity. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 5:00 & 7:00 PM Tuesday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway. The Vigil Service will begin at 6:30 PM. Doris was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 6, 1930, and was raised in Miami, Florida. A former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she sang in their choir and was a member of the Ladies' Guild. Doris was also member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council 704 and was a devout member of Nativity Catholic Church. She was very proud of her family and was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Her hobbies included needlework, word puzzles and enjoying time with her friends, especially the 80's Ladies, Joyce, Gloria and Mary Francis. Doris is survived by her sister, Bobbie Jean Lynch of Georgia and her half-sister Mary Francis Lewis of California; four children, Catherine Pedersen (Gary), James H. Lloyd III (Blanche), Raymond A. Lloyd (Beth), and Thomas P. Lloyd (Wendy) all of the Charleston area. Grandchildren, Margret Harmon, (Paul), Richard Treat III, (Teresa), Doris Treat, Katrina Hensley (George), Dana Lloyd Casanova (Cindy), James H. Lloyd, IV, Jennifer E. Lloyd, Raymond A. Lloyd, Jr, Edward D. Lloyd, Ansley C. Lloyd, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Contributions in Doris' memory may be made to the Building Fund of Nativity Catholic Church, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
