Online condolences may be offered at www.JamesAMcAlister.com Lane was born in Charleston, SC May 14, 1999, the daughter of William Jaycocks Ladue and Leah Herrington Ladue. Lane attended Pattison's Academy. Her one and only hobby was therapeutic horseback riding at Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding (C.A.T.R.). When on the horse, Lane was the happiest little girl in the world. Lane was also an Ambassador for Carolina Children's Charity creating Team Lane, a fundraising team raising awareness and monies to support the special needs community. Lane was a member of St. Philip's Church, Charleston , SC, but frequently attended Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and Christ St. Paul's Parish Church in Hollywood, SC. Today and every day we remember Lane who, in fifteen short years, changed the world around us and many others in extraordinary ways. We also remember many people who made her life special and who have brought peace in her absence. We are deeply grateful for her teachers, therapists, doctors, nurses and caregivers who understood and embraced her promise, our friends and family who supported us in her health and illness, the medical staff at MUSC and Parkwood Pediatrics. We would be remiss not to mention Elizabeth Green, Lane's caregiver and best friend for ten years. Lane's life was much sweeter because of Elizabeth's great love and care. Oftentimes you would find Elizabeth reading Lane the Bible or a storybook and playing her favorite music box. Elizabeth also took her on long strolls when the weather was nice and to the mall for ice cream and shopping when weather was too hot outside. Elizabeth Green was a treasure to Lane and will remain deep in our hearts. Lane is survived by her parents, her siblings, William Rawlins Lowndes Ladue and Anne Emmaline "Emma" Ladue; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry (Trudy) V. Herrington, Jr., Uncles, Harry (Buster) V. Herrington, III (Laurie), Justin Ross Herrington, Lawrence Knight Ladue, III, Aunt, Evelyn Ladue Wells (Doug), cousins Van Herrington, Evie Wells and Preston Wells. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Lawrence Knight Ladue, Jr. and Angelyn McGill Ladue. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask donations be made to Pattison's Academy, 2383 Hwy. 41 North, #101, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466; Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, 2669 Hamilton Road, Johns Island, SC 29455; Carolina Children's Charity, 1064 Gardner Road, Charleston, SC 29407; or MUSC Children's Hospital, 18 Bee Street MSC 450, Charleston, SC 29425.
