Carmen L. Duc, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on January 24, 2017, at the age of 93. The relatives and friends of Ms. Carmen L. Duc are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston. The Rite of Committal, at Holy Cross Cemetery, will be Private. The family will receive friends Friday between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM.Carmen was born March 7, 1923 in Charleston, a daughter of the late Harry A. and Lillian M. Duc. She attended schools in Charleston and was an original member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Carmen, lovingly referred to as ‘Conk’, was a loving sister and aunt. She had many gifts including a great sense of humor and a generous spirit, especially with family. She dedicated most of her time and energy helping raise her many nieces and nephews. She lived her life to the fullest, loved being an aunt, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Carmen was devoted to her Catholic faith, which was embodied by her commitment to Perpetual Adoration at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for many decades. She had many fond memories of the boys and girls that she drove to and from Blessed Sacrament Catholic School for many, many years.The family would like to recognize the great care given to her by her niece, Wendy Sosebee, and her special caregivers, Phyllis Kyle, Sandra Barbour and Sandy Glisson.She is survived by her sister, Patricia D. Mikell (Mike) and sister-in-law, Ann M. Duc as well as many nieces and nephews.Carmen was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Thomas A Duc, and two sisters, Kathrine D. Mitchell (James) and Marguerite D. Sosebee (Roy).
