Carla Darlene White

Carla White, 62, of Summerville, wife of Timothy M. White entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 19, 2021.

Carla was born on March 23, 1959, in Akron, Ohio to the late Robert “Jerry” and Rita Gregory Snyder. She was a 1977 graduate from Lewis County High School in Weston, WV. Carla worked for many years in the retail grocery business in the deli/bakery department. She began at Kroger in Weston, then after moving to Charleston, SC in the mid 1980s she continued working for Kroger who later merged with Bi-Lo where she remained for many more years. More recently she worked for the Dorchester County Schools as a cafeteria manager.

She was a member of Miles Road Baptist Church in Summerville where she volunteered her time in the Children’s Ministry either as an Awana leader or Sunday School teacher. She loved working with the children and strived to make each child feel special and loved. She was also part of the hostess team for fellowships and other church related events.

Carla was a blessing to everyone she encountered and was a true servant leader. Carla was a joyful person who loved to cook, socialize with people, and genuinely loved life. She was devoted to her family and was the absolute best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Carla was a great mentor and motivator not only at work but in her personal life. Her faith and Christian walk were inspiring to many. Her greatest advice to everyone was to get right with the Lord. She will be terribly missed by all that knew her.

Carla is survived by her husband, Tim; daughter, Kim (Vince) Baldwin and son, TJ (Kailey) White; grandchildren: Jacob Baldwin, McKadyn, Bentley, and Paisley White, all of Summerville; brother, Robert “Yogi” Snyder of Cottageville; nieces, grandnephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

In addition to her parents, Carla is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Haylie Goodell and sister Rosemary Wyatt.

The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy M. White are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Miles Road Baptist Church, 816 Miles Jamison Rd, Summerville.  A. Private interment will take place at a later date.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations be made to Miles Road Baptist Church.
