Billie Jean Infinger, 85 years old, of Johns Island, South Carolina, died October 20, 2023, at The Palmettos of Charleston.
Billie Jean was born on August 22,1938, to Minna and William Summers of Johns Island, South Carolina. She attended St. Johns High School. Billie Jean was married to Walter Allen Infinger. They had a long and happy marriage. They had 4 children: Wilma Alicia Broome (Andy), James Allen Infinger (Melody), William Thomas Infinger (Vicki), and Walter Carl Infinger (Shannalee).
Billie Jean was an independent, strong, straight-forward, tell-it-like-it-is woman with an infinite love for her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were the most precious treasures in the world to her. Her grandchildren are: Deanna Beylotte, Denise Brooks, Derek Easterling, Clint Broome, Nichole Infinger, James Allen Infinger II, Morgan Walz, Cameron Infinger, Jacob Infinger and Dustin Infinger.
Billie Jean loved taking care of babies and children and watching them grow into adults with their own lives and purposes. She worked for many years as a childcare provider at The Preschool Academy in Charleston. She was a proud servant and messenger of God with unending devotion who studied and taught the Bible. She raised her family by trusting in the guidance of her strong faith. Billie Jean was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church on Johns Island.
To say Billie Jean loved music is an understatement. She always had a song for every occasion. She loved taking road trips to the beach or the mountains. Billie Jean had a light in her smile that couldn't help but make you smile back and feel like the luckiest person to see that smile.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Minna and William Summers, husband, Walter Infinger, sister, Dorothy Borden and grandchild, Deanna Beylotte.
Billie Jean's Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, October 27, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church, Johns Island, South Carolina with Paster Tom Cassem officiating. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made in her honor to Faith Lutheran Church, 3374 Maybank Highway, Johns Island, SC 29455.
