Entered into eternal rest on June 24, 2015, Beverly Ann Jackson Settle, the wife of John M. Settle, Jr. of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Settle, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral service of the latter at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 29, 2015, at St. Philip's Church. Internment, Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. on Sunday evening. Ann was born in Charleston on January 12, 1937, the younger daughter of Beverly Eugén and Leonie Elizabeth Svedberg Jackson. She attended Ashley Hall, Charleston High and the College of Charleston. Ann served on the Board of the Charleston Speech and Hearing Clinic and was Past President of the Ashley Hall Alumnae Association. She served on the Altar Guild at St. Philips Church. Ann was a people person and enjoyed teaching at Charleston Day School, helping start the Kindergarten at Ashley Hall, and working for her friends at Charles Kerrison Jewelers and Foxworth Brass. Ann is survived by her husband, John M. Settle, Jr; a son, John M. Settle III and his wife, Jill; a daughter, Elizabeth W. Settle; and a son, Pearce W. Settle; her grandchildren, Legare, Rebecca, Eugenia, Ella Gray, Morgan and Owens; her niece, Sally Holcombe Templeton; her sister, Carol Jackson Moore; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters, Betty Jackson Holcombe and Patricia Jackson Wilkinson.
