Beverly E. Lejeune

Mrs. Beverly LeJeune, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on December 9, 2011, at the age of 93. Born in Bellingham, WA, on June 2, 1918, she was raised in Compton, California, where she graduated from Lynwood High School in 1935, and attended Compton Junior College. A gifted artist and musician, she married the late William LeJeune of Gueydan, Louisiana, a naval veteran of World War II and Korea. They were married for 71 years and raised their family in Charleston and Summerville, SC. She is survived by her half-sister, Lynne Curry of Yucaipa, CA; her son, William LeJeune, Jr. and his wife Marie; daughter, Ruth and her husband Richard Quinn; 5 grandchildren: William L. LeJeune, Richard M. Quinn, Jr., Julieanne Humowitz, Rebecca Q. Mustian, and Raegan Quinn Smith; and 12 great-grandchildren. The relatives and friends of Beverly LeJeune are invited to attend her graveside service at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 61, Charleston, SC. Visitation with the family will be 10:30 - 11:30 am at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home.
