Betty King Walters, 89, of Charleston South Carolina passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025. Betty was the beloved wife of Herman Walters for over 70 years.
Betty had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, especially the vibrant magnolia blooms, camellias and colorful azaleas. Her love of music, she held dear, particularly for the piano. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, her love of beauty and her unwavering devotion to her family.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Herman Walters; their three children, David Walters, Daniel Walters (Patricia), Joseph Walters (Trina); eight grandchildren, Rebecca (Justin), Elizabeth, Sarah (Andrew ), Daniel (Samantha), Jacob and Robert Walters, Hannah (Joseph) and Morgan (Hunter) Walters; and six great-grandchildren, Alana, Jaxon, Emma, Weston, Waylon and Halen; sisters, Lynda King Sherrill and Frances King Wood (Robert).
She is preceded in death by her parents, Morgan "Preacher" King and Ruby Conner King; and her brother, B.J. King.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Union Church of Brethren, 9420 Bent Mountain Road, Bent Mountain, Virginia 24059.
