Betty Jean Knight

Betty Jean Knight, 96, widow of Jennings Bryan Knight, entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2024.

Her Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December 23, 2024, at the graveside, Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive, N. Charleston. The family will receive friends between 12:00 and 1:00 PM, Monday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston.

Betty was born March 31, 1928, in Leary, Georgia a daughter of Wilson and Mary Johnston. She grew up in South Georgia with her brothers, Robert, Jonny, Will and Arthur as well as her sisters, Maude and Annie. She married Jennings in 1955 and settled in Charleston.

Betty was a devoted member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. She worked as a Bookkeeper for many years, most recently with Unicon Tri-County Concrete.

Betty's children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter were her greatest joy. Her famous Sunday dinners will be remembered by all as well as her lovely South Georgia accent.

Betty was predeceased by her siblings, husband and her son, Ronald Jennings Knight. She is survived by her daughter, Gail K. Ferri (Paul) and her grandchildren, Allison Ferri Scales (Nathan), Brian Paul Ferri, Kelly Nicole Ferri and great-granddaughter, Emilia Marie Scales.
