Entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 3, 2009, Betty Jeanne Jackson Holcombe, the wife of James Hagood Holcombe, Sr. of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr and Mrs. James H. Holcombe, Sr are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at Grace Episcopal Church, Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Carolina Yacht Club. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 3870 Leeds Ave. Suite 101, N. Charleston 29405. Mrs Holcombe was born in Charleston on March 12, 1925, a daughter of Beverly Eugen and Elizabeth Svedborg Jackson and graduated from Ashley Hall School. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Sea Island Republican Women's Club, Ashley Hall Alumnai Assocaiation and Grace Episcopal Church. Betty was truly devoted to her husband of sixty-five years, her family and always put the needs of others before her own. Mrs. Holcombe is survived by her husband, James H. Holcombe, Sr. her daughter, Sally H. Templeton and her husband, John; her grandchildren, Neyle T. Morris, Rhett T. Ambrite, Beth Gillett and Tyler Gillett; her great grandchildren: Mills Morris, Rhett Morris, Ford Ambrite, Madeleine Ambrite and Shelby Gillett; her sisters, Ann J. Settle and Carol J. Moore as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Jean H. Gillett and her son, James H.
