Mrs. Betty Shifflett Deaton, 63, of Johns Island, the wife of John Jack Deaton, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Hospice Center. Betty was born in Richmond, KY on June 13, 1947, the daughter of the late Frank and Fannie (Keaton) Shifflett. She did secretarial work for her husbands company, Deaton's Home Improvement but her main job was being a homemaker and raising her family. She was a Pioneer with the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, John's Island Congregation for eighteen years. A loving person, Betty would extend help to anyone who was searching for the truth in God's word. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack J. Deaton; five of her children, John A. Deaton, Tony L. Deaton, Jeffery Lee Deaton, Theresa Michelle Deaton and K. Curtis Deaton. Betty is also survived by eight grandchildren. A Memorial Service at Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Ravenel Congregation, 3312 Bonanza Rd. Charleston, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 31, 2010.
