Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, Betty Grey Edge Convertino, wife of Santo J. Convertino. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Santo J. Convertino are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the James A. McAlister Chapel. Entombment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this Friday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Betty was born in Sampson County, NC on November 18, 1931, a daughter of Ernest Book and Mary Minnie Butler Edge. She was a sincere and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister in law and friend who was loved dearly by all whose lives she touched. Her passions were gardening, singing, writing, playing music and was a published poet. She will probably be most remembered as the face of customer service at Convertino's Dry Cleaners, which she and her husband, Santo, operated for over 36 years. Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Santo; her children: Santo J. Convertino III, Dr. Giannina R. Convertino, Carmen L. Convertino and Angelo T. Convertino and his wife, Lynda, as their two children: Krissa and Michael. Betty was one of ten children and is also survived by Sanford C. Edge, Lilly-Von E. Smith and Nancy E.
