He was born in Columbia, SC on September 26, 1929, a son of William Theron and Pearl Crowder Peters. Ben graduated from Columbia High School and honorably served our country in U.S. Air Force. He was the President and owner of Ben Peter's Brick. He worked at McCormick Funeral Home in Columbia for ten years. Ben sold brick for Guignard Brick in Columbia, and then established Ben Peters Brick on St. Andrews Blvd, Charleston 1960-2006.
