Barbara K. Netting entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2011. The relatives and friends of Ms. Barbara K. Netting are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM, Monday, July 11, 2011, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM this Sunday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway. A Vigil Service will begin at 6:30 PM. Barbara was born on December 15, 1950 in Charleston, a daughter of the late Thomas W. Kennedy, Sr. and Gertrude V. Kennedy. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was a loving daughter and sister. Bobbie was loved dearly by her family and friends. She would never meet a stranger without a smile on her face. Bobbie was a generous friend who will be deeply missed, especially by her family. She graduated from Blessed Sacrament School, attended Bishop England High School and earned a certification as a nurse's aid from Trident Technical College. She worked at MUSC in the Hematology Laboratory and later at Kiawah Island Resort. Bobbie also worked at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennesee, was an active member of The Pilot Club of Charleston and was also a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She loved to go crabbing, collect sea shells and enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and baseball. Bobbie was predeceased by her brother, Ronald L. Kennedy. Surviving her are her mother, Gertrude V. Kennedy; her son, Robert C. Netting and his wife Tabitha; her grandson, Robert Corbin Netting; three brothers, Thomas W. Kennedy, Jr. and his wife Renee, Michael B. Kennedy, Sr. and his wife, Debbie and Gerald F. Kennedy; her sister, Rosemary K. Cochran and her husband, Jim. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Thomas W. Kennedy, III, and his wife, Valerie, Tamara K. Cusaac and her husband, Jay, Natalie Emory and her husband, Brad, Laurie McAbee and her husband, Brad, Heather Kennedy, Danielle Kennedy, Michael B. Kennedy, Haley M. Cochran and Corey P.
