Barbara Smith Kennedy

Barbara Smith Kennedy, 89, Of Peachtree City, GA, formerly of Charleston, widow of Robert Rhett Kennedy, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 2, 2016. The relatives and friends of Barbara Smith Kennedy are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the graveside in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Barbara was born May 5, 1927 in Jasper County, SC, the daughter of James Lester Smith and Nella Smith. She was the oldest of 8 children and moved to Charleston at the age of 17. She worked at the American Tobacco Company and then at Gulf Oil Corporation in Charleston. She lived in her West Ashley home for over 60 years where her favorite pastime was working in her flower garden.She is survived by her daughter, Nancy K. Fox and her husband, Stephen, of Peachtree City, GA; three grandchildren: Kristin F. King (Gary) of Newnan, GA; Glen T. Fox (Christa) of Fayetteville, GA; Stuart A. Fox (Destinee) of Sharpsburg, GA and two great-grandchildren: Madison Rhett King and Morgan Rylie King.  Barbara is also survived by three sisters and three brothers, as well as many nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice in Peachtree City, GA.
