Assunta Diliegro

Assunta DiLiegro, widow of Nicholas DiLiegro, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 in Charleston, SC. She was born on October 10th, 1946, in Gaeta, Italy, to her late parents, Erasmo and Teresa Viola.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, May 12, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston.. The Rite of Committal will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover, MA. The family will receive friends and family between 9:30 and 10:30 AM Friday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home.

In 1971, Assunta married the late Nicholas DiLiegro, of Somerville, MA. Together, they raised their family in Andover, MA. In 2004, she relocated to Charleston, SC, where she spent the remainder of her life.

Assunta was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family deeply. She leaves behind her son Thomas DiLiegro, his wife Amy, her daughter Julia Viola, her husband Ronald, and seven grandchildren: Thomas C. DiLiegro, John N. DiLiegro, Caroline E. DiLiegro, Susanna R. DiLiegro, Nicholas J. Viola, William T. Viola, and Mary S. Viola.

Assunta will always be remembered for her kindness and her unwavering love for her family. Her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of her loved ones, who will always cherish her memory.
