Arnold Louis Piazza

Arnold Louis Piazza, 98, husband of Jane Foy Piazza, entered into eternal rest on April 8, 2017.The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Louis Piazza are invited to attend a Liturgy of the Word for the former at 10:00AM, Thursday, April13, 2017, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Dr. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, Wednesday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. Arnold was born December 11, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Mario and Dirce Piazza. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School, Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and the Annapolis School of Seamanship. Arnold served in the United States Navy and worked as a Machinist - 2nd Line Supervisor at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He retired after 43 years as a Ship Management Officer at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Arnold is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jane F. Piazza; son, Arnold L. Piazza; grandchildren: Michelle Hayes, Brian Heffner (Joy), Trey Heffner, Travis Piazza (Amy); Great-Grandchildren, Stephanie, Erica, Jane, Quinton, Sofia, Elise, Evan, Lauren, Ruby and Quaid. He was preceded by his daughter, Laraine P.
