Anne Mary Cooper Ledet, 67, of Charleston, wife of Phillip L. Ledet, died Saturday, January 11, 2013. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip L. Ledet are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston The Rite of Committal will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and for 30 minutes following on Thursday. Anne was born on November 17, 1946, in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Harry William and Mildred Dean Cooper. She graduated from Bishop England High School and attended Baptist College (now Charleston Southern University). She worked as a medical records transcriber at St. Francis Hospital and retired after 36 years as an accountant from Southern Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command. She was a bowler, square dancer and loved playing cards and dominoes. She was known as the "Cat Lady" because she loved her cats and taking care of cats for neighbors and friends. She is survived by her husband, Phillip Lawrence Ledet; sister-in-law, Carol Ledet of Bronson, TX; nieces, Donna Wireman of Atlanta, GA and Amy Schictel of Groves, TX; special cousins, Willard Hewitt and Caroline Campbell of Charleston, SC and numerous other cousins. She will be missed by her beloved cats, Razzy, Jazzy and Calie.
