Anne Walton Clifton

Anne Walton Clifton, 87, a resident of Summerville Estates in Summerville, SC, died Monday, February 21, 2022, in a local hospital.

She was born June 1, 1934, in Newberry SC. She was one of four children of Sara Pitts Walton and Van W. Walton. Mrs. Clifton was predeceased by her husband, William Herschel Clifton, a US Navy Veteran of Korea and Vietnam.

She is survived by her sisters, Betty L. Walton, Patsy Walton and Vanette Cowart; nieces and nephews, Sandy Davidson, Craig Moore, Crystal Hill, Britton Cowart, Tobin Cowart, Kathy Burnette and Tammy Hardman. Mrs. Clifton loved her little dogs that were treated like her only children.

The family will receive friends between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. She will be laid to rest with her husband at a private service at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.
