Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, Anna Madge Player Lauder, wife of Charles Smith Lauder, Jr., of John's Island,SC. Anna was born in Sumter, SC a daughter of the late Wadell W. Player and Virginia McElveen Player on Monday, November 23, 1931. Mrs. Lauder was an active, longtime member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She retired from The Charleston County School District after 23 years as a Teaching Assistant at Haut Gap Middle School. She enjoyed arts and crafts, loved baseball and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves. She is survived by her husband Charles; three daughters, Sheryl Lauder-Carroll and her husband Henry; Becky L. Lauder; Marybeth L. Brennan and her husband Jim; her sister Mary Mellor Wood; four grandchildren, Scott Bennett, Marc Bennett and his wife, Melanie, Anthony Carter, Wes Carter and two great grandchildren, Alissa Bennett and Kenny Jones. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, aides and staff of Hospice of Charleston and Roper & St. Francis Hospitals for their compassion and care. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Lauder, Jr. are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 3:00 PM , Sunday, May 23, 2010 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 3407 Maybank Hwy. Burial will be private.
