Anna Goins Edens

JOHNS ISLAND - Anna Edens, age 94, widow of the late Horace Edens, passed away on December 29, 2011. A native of Williamsburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Webb Goins, Sr. and Eva Goins. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Anna Edens are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at 12:00, at JAMES A. McALISTER Funeral Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Anna is survived by 2 sons: James Edens of Oklahoma, and Ulmer Edens, of Alabama; 2 daughters: Carolyn Clark and husband Timothy of Charleston, and Connie Arnold, of Charleston, SC; 15 grandchildren and three generations of great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Clydie Williams, Thelma Johnson, and Grace Meyers. She was preceded in death by 1 son, Thomas Edens; 2 brothers, PFC (Army) Pete Goins (KIA, WWII), James Goins, Jr.; 2 sisters, Jossie Carraway, Lucille Williams. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Church of God (1560 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC, 29414) for the Church of God Home for Children or the Connie Kerns Home for Children. The family would like to extend special thanks to the many caregivers who took care of Mrs. Edens, first in her home, and also at St. Francis Hospital and Heartland of West Ashley.
