Amber Michele Pedigo

Amber Michele Pedigo, 42, of Charleston, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd., Charleston. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 PM Tuesday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Per Covid-19 protocols, all guests will kindly wear a mask.

Amber was born January 15, 1979 in Charleston, daughter of Mary Elizabeth Leach and the late Charles A. Pedigo, Jr. A graduate of the College of Charleston, Amber was a devoted special education teacher with Charleston County School District. She taught at C.E. Williams Middle School and Military Magnet Academy.

Amber is survived by her mother, Mary Pedigo, of Charleston; brother, Aaron D. Earl (Amy) of Charleston; niece, Vivian Earl and nephew Liam Earl of Charleston; uncle, Francis X. Leach (Leigh) of Atlanta, GA; and cousins Laura E. Sklba, Greyson Sklba, and Luke Sklba of Elmira, NY.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association ( www.mda.donordrive.com ) in honor of Amber, who was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Dystrophy as an infant; or to Military Magnet Academy, where she strived to make a positive impact in the lives of her students for the past 12 years.
