Alvin Walter Hanson, Jr.

Alvin Walter Hanson, Jr., 65, of James Island, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 27, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Charleston, the son of Alvin Walter Hanson and Florence Clare Andrews Hanson on Thursday, November 9, 1944. Mr. Hanson was a graduate of St. Andrews High School and the Baptist College at Charleston. He served our country in the U.S. Army and was a retired Chemist for Westvaco. Mr. Hanson is survived by his two sisters, Meta H. Mason of Tampa, FL and Frances H. Fischer and her husband Eugene of James Island. Also surviving him are four nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by his sister, Harriet Hanson and his parents. The relatives and friends of Alvin W. Hanson, Jr. are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM to service time. No other public services are planned.
