Agnes Mae McLawhorn, 86, wife of Lloyd McLawhorn, Jr. entered into eternal rest on June 12, 2018. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd McLawhorn, Jr. are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 15, 2018, at the James A. McAlister Chapel. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 PM, Thursday evening, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy.
Agnes was born on April 28, 1932, in Grant, Alabama, the daughter of the late Albert and Lillie Chambless. Agnes was a graduate of Woodville High School and began a 40 year career of faithful service in the banking industry until her retirement. She was a member of the Essex Village Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school for more than 30 years.
Agnes was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, teaching, wood crafting, volunteering at the church, reading and studying God’s word, spending time with family and friends and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd McLawhorn of 63 years and two sons, Rudy McLawhorn (Sharon) of Dorchester, SC and Stephen McLawhorn (Peggy) of Summerville, SC; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Debbie Picallo and Cindy Platt.
