Addie O'Neil Bradshaw Courtney of North Charleston entered into the glory of her eternal life Saturday, October 17, 2009. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. She was the widow of John Blease Courtney, Sr. The relatives and friends of Addie B. Courtney are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 1:30 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at the James A. McAlister Chapel. Interment, Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. this Tuesday evening between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Mrs. Courtney was born in Kingstree, SC on Sunday, May 29, 1921, a daughter of Enoch Riley and Essie P. Dyson Bradshaw. She was an Interior Fabricator and the owner of Bupp's Textiles. She was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Orange Grove Road, Charleston, for 63 years. She loved sewing, cooking and spending time together with her family. She will be sadly missed by them all. Mrs. Courtney is survived by her children: Frankie C. Hicks, Patricia J. Floyd (Charles) and John B. Courtney, Jr. (Esther); her grandchidren: Joe Hicks, Jr. (Janice), Gwen H. Pardee (Gene), Donna B. Kuzio (Paul), Stephen N. Barton (Sunshine), Pamela C. Slay (Ben), Paula C. Hadwin (Randy), Phyllis C. Williamson (Mack) and Kristy C. Still (Alan); her twenty-one great grandchildren; seven great, great grandchildren as well as two sisters Mellie S. Locklair and Helen B. King-Brookes and many neices and nephews. She was predeceased in death by her daughter, Jacqueline Courtney.
