Abraham Joseph Keating, 50, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 15, 2016. The relatives and friends of Abraham Joseph Keating are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Friday, August 19, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Thursday, with the Vigil Service at 6:45, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway. Abe was born February 18, 1966 in Charleston, SC to the late Donna Ware and Patrick Joseph Keating, Jr. He was predeceased by his sisters Theresa Marie and Mary Frances, nephew Joseph, and grand-nephews Jacob and Caleb. He is survived by his siblings: Donna Marie Keating, Margaret K Bull (Mike), Monica M Keating, Anne K Ellington (Langdon), Joseph W Keating (Macarena), Barbara K Matthews (Dave), Maria K Gabriele (Wally), Christina "Tina" K Moore (James); 18 nieces and nephews: Meghan, Christopher, Angela, Amy, Ashley, Morgan, Carmen, Encarna, Belén, Philnel, Maria Joy, Michael, Leland, Mikey, Katherine, Stephen, Patrick, and Alexander; 14 grand-nieces and nephews. A man of faith, Abe was devoted to family and friends. Education was bedrock for his life. A humble man, Abe was a friendly counselor to his many nieces and nephews, inspiring them to be their best. Many enjoyed Abe’s quick-witted humor, passion for music, trivia, the outdoors, and love of running. Abe earned his undergraduate (1988) and later MBA from The Citadel. He was a valued member of the banking community. Abe was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, affiliated with Junior Achievement, a lifetime member of The Association of Citadel Men, the Charleston Area Citadel Club, the Brigadier Club, a charter member of Knights of Columbus at Blessed Sacrament and The Monday Lunch Bunch.
